Calculator inputs
Every BucketSavers calculator runs in your browser. There is no account, and nothing you enter into a tool is sent to a BucketSavers server or to anyone else; the results are computed on your own device.
.buk files
When you save a plan, the tool writes a .buk file to your own computer. It is a
single household file that every calculator reads and writes, and older files saved by a
single tool still open and are converted. The file is plain JSON, so you can open it in a
text editor and see exactly what it holds: whatever you entered, including balances and
income. Treat it like any sensitive financial document.
Your household in this browser
So that every tool can open already filled in, the site keeps one copy of your household in this browser's local storage: the same household facts and tool settings a .buk file holds, updated when you use the household page or save or open a .buk file in a tool. It stays in this browser on this device and is never sent to BucketSavers or anyone else. To remove it, press Forget this household on the household page, or clear this site's data in your browser's settings.
The contact form
The contact form is the one place where something you type leaves your browser. The name, email address, and message you enter are sent to Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, which passes them on to BucketSavers. Web3Forms handles them under its own privacy policy. Nothing from the calculators is included.
Fonts
Most tool pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts. When one of those pages opens, your browser requests the font files from Google. Like any web request, that request carries your IP address and browser details, but it never includes anything you type into a tool. The other pages, including this one, use fonts already on your device.
Analytics
There are none. BucketSavers runs no analytics service, no tracking scripts, and no advertising.
Affiliate links and sponsors
BucketSavers has no affiliate links or sponsors. If it ever carries them, they will be labeled clearly, they will not change calculator results, and no script that can read calculator inputs will be added to a calculator page.
